Once Auckland Rugby decided to retain its existing administration offices in the North Stand at Eden Park, ASC Architects were commissioned to redesign their current layout.
Twenty five staff were to be accommodated in a mix of single offices and open plan workstations.
However, the main focus was a new flexible front of house that could function in several configurations. The traditional staffroom became an integral part of the entry foyer, while the boardroom could be opened to the foyer with large sliding/folding doors. This total area could then be used for large post match functions and remain completely separate from the office areas.
A large double sided trophy cabinet is located in the frontage glazing, while several walls and the sliding/folding doors feature horizontal stripes of contrasting timber veneers representing a subtle take on the province’s traditional blue & white hoops.
