McLennan Park
McLennan is a community-focused development now being built alongside the open spaces and recreational parks of Papakura and Takanini. ASC Architects designed 11 single-storey houses in 2013 which are now complete and occupied. This work has led onto this design on 50 more two-storey houses, to be constructed soon.
McLennan features a range of homes designed to encourage the diversity in home ownership that underpins safe, thriving communities. Sizes range from two to five bedrooms, available in duplex, stand-alone, single or double-storey designs. Ninety of the properties will be social housing for Housing NZ or other community providers.

While all will share the same attention to detail and quality – including double glazed windows and full insulation, - variations in home size, design, type, materials and colour will create an architecturally appealing environment and avoid design uniformity. All homes at McLennan will feature either north or north-west facing outdoor spaces to make the most of natural light and heat.
The homes will be located around landscaped laneways, designed to reduce traffic flow and make stepping outside the front door safer, quieter and friendlier. The addition of ‘pocket’ parks will not only provide access to green space and safe play areas for kids, but also enhance the walkways that connect the wider neighbourhood.
