Mercy Pet-CT
ASC Architects have completed work on the PET CT Clinic fitout for Mercy Radiology following a 2 yeardesign and documentation process followed by the construction in 2010.
This facility is only the second of its kind in New Zealand and first in Auckland. It provides a relatively new medical scanning technique for body oncology imaging which is used for patient diagnosis, monitoring and correcting the undergoing cancer treatment. As this technique involves injecting radioactive isotopes, the extensive radiation shielding was one of the most complex aspects of the facility planning and design.
The PET CT Clinic is located in the Cecilia Maher building within the Mercy Hospital site and was formally opened by Hon Tony Ryall in October 2010.
